Officials kept shelters open on Saturday in nine counties after Hurricane Isaias, according to the Florida Division of Emergency Management.Bay, Escambia, Holmes, Okaloosa, Walton, Washington, Santa Rosa, Gadsden, and Wakulla counties had post-storm shelters open, according to the FDEM.Isaias, which made landfall on Friday night near Destin as a Category 2 storm, killed at least four people in Florida and Alabama, according to officials. In Escambia County, a woman died after a tree fell on her home, and a man died of carbon monoxide fumes from a generator in his garage, according to Sheriff Chip Simmons. Four assisted living facilities with about 280 residents and a nursing home with over 80 residents evacuated, according to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.For more information about shelters, visit this page.
