An off-duty Monroe County Sheriff’s Office civilian employee accused of interfering with officers during a traffic stop was arrested on Sunday, authorities said. According to Key West Police, 41-year-old Evens Nicolas Michelin refused to move away from an officer conducting a traffic stop on Kennedy Drive and interfered with the officer. Police said that officers told Michelin to move several times, but he refused and was arrested. Michelin was hired by the sheriff s office on Nov. 26, 2024 and is a jail programs clerk. His employment status is pending an Internal Affairs investigation.
